What is LoRa?
LoRa stands for 'Long Range Low Power'. LoRa is a network technology that allows small amounts of data to be transmitted over longer distances, especially by wireless sensors or devices that, due to the ultra-low power consumption, work on a battery.
What do you need for LoRa
In order to use LoRa, hardware is required with the LoRa RF chip. There is already a lot of hardware available for various purposes.
With this hardware a connection can be made with the LoRaWAN protocol.
The connection can be set up by purchasing one or more gateways. If you do not want this, KPN offers a service to use KPN's network.
Via our web portal we can make the data visible.
What can we do for you?
• finding the right hardware that collects the information you are looking for.
• collecting data from the senor(s)
• pass on the information via LoRaWAN and Internet to our server
• present the data via a web portal
